I wish I could remember
what it is that I forgot.
Wand’ring halls
of mist-filled falls
forever seems my lot.
The distant past eludes me,
rushing past since God knows when.
A cataract
of flowing fact
slips by to my chagrin.
I wish I could remember
what it is that I forgot.
Where I’ve been
and in whose skin
is something I have sought.
The hazy future taunts me;
will some truth reached have I then?
Or will it be
as I now see
through other eyes again?
I wish I could remember
what it is that I forgot.
Wand’ring halls
of mist-filled falls
forever seems my lot…
