River Dance

The waves hop in the breeze,

lightly jumping against the craft.

We glide along the shore,

as fireflies join us at dusk.

The sun rests,

tucked beneath the blanket of trees.

Stars appear,

standing guard while the sun sleeps.

The tribe appears on shore,

with torches they wait for us now.

We land anxious to start,

for now’s a time to celebrate.

The night beckons,

we’ve waited long enough.

Now my love,

we start the river dance.
